Approaching Lost

Lost - Top 7 of ‘07

by Nikki on December 24th, 2007

BuddyTV recently ranked the Best and Worst of 2007. Lost ranked in a variety of categories - here’s how they fared and what the judges had to say:

Best Show (#1)

In 2007, a miracle happened: Lost became cool again. After a long period during which my initial affection for the show wore off, the second half of season 3 delivered in a big way, restoring my faith in Lost. Yes, that show-changing revelation in the finale that the flashbacks were actually flash forwards was a stroke of genius, giving the show new life. But long before that finale, Lost was already my top show of 2007.

Best Finale (#1)

After three seasons, we expect Lost to leave us asking questions, scratching our heads, and gasping over jaw-dropping cliffhangers. So how is it that, knowing we were in for a shocker, this year’s finale still left us feeling like our brains exploded in the best way imaginable? It all comes down to two words: flash forward.

If I had to be stranded on a dangerous island and bring one person with me to keep me safe (and warm at night), I choose Josh Holloway. As James Sawyer on Lost, you know he’s a bad boy who wants to do the right thing. He was just severely messed up as a child and can’t get out of his own damn way as an adult. He’s that guy that you know you should stay away from but can’t help getting close to him. Nobody knows that better than Kate, who constantly finds herself in his arms.

Sexiest Woman (Evangeline Lilly #5)

Lost fans don’t need any explanation here. Evangeline Lilly has been a beacon of hotness on Lost for three years. While there has been other, blonde lady eye candy on Lost, Lilly is the unconventional goddess, the dark-haired woman who looks better after a muddy run through the forest than she does cleaned up.

Saddest Death (Charlie Pace #1)

I’ll admit that I lost a bit of love for Charlie during season 2 of Lost. Knocking out Sun and acting so nutty that Locke had to punch him in the face made him a little less endearing than he was during the first year of the series. That’s why I was so happy when the sane, caring version of Charlie returned in season three. It was as though the very possibility of his impending death healed his soul.
