On the Island: Lapidus is one of the Freighter People. He piloted the helicopter that landed on the island.

Episode 4.02:
Eleuthera, The Bahamas. Lapidus hears about Oceanic 815. The pilot was Seth Norris. They show video of the bodies in the water. He picks up the phone and calls the national hotline. “I’ve got some information on the crash,” he says. That’s not the pilot, he tells her. Lapidus says that it cannot be Seth Norris because Seth always wore a wedding ring. He’s asked how he knows Seth Norris. His response, “because I was supposed to be flying Oceanic Flight 815 that day.”

On the Island:
Lapidus comes crawling out from under some brush. A cow moos at him and walks away. His transponder appears to be damaged so he shoots a flare gun.

Miles and Daniel ask Lapidus where the chopper crashed. “Crashed? What kind of pilot do you think I am?” he asks. He says he put it down safe and sound. Everyone walks over to the edge and looks. The helicopter is in a clearing.

Juliet cleans up Lapidus’ cut on his head. He asks her name. “You weren’t on that plane, were you?” Lapidus tells Miles that she wasn’t on the flight, that he studied the manifest. She’s a native.

Episode 4.03:
Sayid tells Lapidus to take him to the ship. Lapidus says he can’t carry much weight, only 3 of them. Sayid says he can bring Charlotte back safely. “If I do, will you take me to the ship?” he asks. “Absolutely,” Lapidus says. “If you bring Charlotte back safe, I will take you off this island.”

Daniel is setting up some sort of transmitter/antenna thing. He says he needs to borrow the phone from Lapidus and wants to run an experiment. Jack watches as Daniel tells her to fire a payload. Jack and Lapidus step back.

Desmond asks Lapidus about the picture. Lapidus won’t answer him. Sayid comes over the hill. Jack asks where Kate is … “She decided to stay,” Sayid says. He then tells Lapidus that he traded Miles for Charlotte.

Charlotte and Miles say they are going to stay on the island to work. “Just be sure that you follow the same bearing that we came in on,” Daniel tells Lapidus. No matter what. Lapidus takes Sayid, Desmond, and Naomi’s body on the chopper.

Episode 4.05:
The helicopter is flying over the ocean. Lapidus rechecks the coordinates. Sayid asks what it is and Lapidus replies that it is a cheat sheet. The helicopter flies through some clouds, straight into the thunderhead. Lapidus tells Sayid to sit back and let him do his job. Desmond keeps looking at a picture of he and Penny. The helicopter tilts and swerves as it encounters turbulence. Rain pounds on.

Desmond tries to climb out of his seat but Sayid holds him down. “We’ll be there in two minutes,” Lapidus calls. They’re free from the storm and land on the freighter. Desmond unfolds the picture and looks at he and Penny.

Men run up to the helicopter. They ask who is on the helicopter. “Survivors of Flight 815,” Lapidus says. They approach Desmond but he begins freaking out, saying that he doesn’t know Sayid. Lapidus says that he was fine when they took off. The guy leads Desmond away, telling Sayid that he’s going to the sick bay and a doctor will look at him.

Sayid watches the freighter guys arguing with Lapidus. He comes down and Sayid asks what happened to Desmond. Lapidus says that he is trying to help him. Sayid asks for the phone, so he can call his people. Lapidus says that if he gives him his gun, he can have the fun. They trade. Sayid calls Jack.

Lapidus and Sayid walk in to the sick bay. Lapidus hands Desmond the phone so that he can talk to Daniel.

Episode 4.06:
Sun walks up to Daniel and introduces herself.

“I’m two months pregnant,” she says

“Oh you’re - wow - uh, congratulations,” Daniel replies.

“So are you here to rescue us?” she asks. He doesn’t reply. “It’s a simple question. Are you or are you not going to rescue us?”

“Thing is, it’s not really my call, Sun.”

“Then whose call is it?” Sun asks. He doesn’t reply again. “Thank you,”she says and walks away.
