Episode 4.02:
Medenine, Tunisia. A jeep drives through the desert to a tent. Charlotte sees a journal talking about the Oceanic 815 flight being recovered. They are there to look at a site. It’s a polar bear skeleton. Charlotte begins excavating and finds a Dharma logo. She smiles.
On the Island:
Charlotte gets out of a sticky predicament with her parachute, only to fall into the hands of Locke and his band of followers.
Charlotte asks the group how many people there are alive. Hurley starts chatting but Locke tells him to stop. Charlotte holds up the transponder and says if they sit tight they will get rescued soon. Locke asks what happened to the helicopter and Charlotte says she doesn’t know, the captain said to put it down. Locke tells her to get up, she is coming with us. Charlotte says that they need to stay put or they won’t be found.
Locke says that she’s lying and that they are not there to save them. Ben shoots her and she falls on her back. Charlotte breathes. Locke unzips her jacket and she is wearing a bullet-proof vest.
Episode 4.03:
Hurley asks if they can let Charlotte go but Locke says he wants to keep her as a hostage.
Sayid tells Locke that he doesn’t trust the freighter people, but if he returns with Charlotte safely he can go to their boat and find out who they are. Locke tells him that Ben has a spy on the boat. “Who?” Sayid asks but Ben says it’s a secret. Sayid asks again for Charlotte. He says that he never expected him to give her over for nothing … He ends up trading her for Miles.
Later Charlotte declines the helicopter ride. She and Miles say they are going to stay on the island to work.
Episode 4.04:
Charlotte asks Miles to remember some cards. Jack walks up and asks why nobody on the boat is answering the call. Charlotte says there is another number that they’re only supposed to use in emergencies. Juliet hands her the phone and says it’s an emergency. Jack asks her to put it on speaker. Regina picks up and says that the helicopter isn’t there … she thought it was with them.
Episode 4.05:
Jack asks Charlotte why they haven’t heard from the helicopter. “What makes you think I know anything?” Charlotte asks. Juliet wonders why she’s not worried. She and Charlotte exchange some uncomfortable words. “Maybe we should just tell them,” Daniel says. Charlotte tells him not to say anything, “we don’t want to confuse anyone.”
Episode 4.06
Daniel is looking at a map. “What happens if… what if I can’t do it?” he asks Charlotte. “Dan, look at me,” Charlotte says. “I know you can do this. We should get going.”
“Yeah,” Daniel answers. “Of course.”
Kate comes stumbling in and Charlotte pulls a gun on her. “Whoa, whoa, it’s okay. It’s Kate,” Daniel says.
“So they have Miles?” Daniel asks Kate. Kate says that they’re treating him fine. She then asks the duo what they are doing out there. “The sat phone ran out of juice,” Charlotte replies, even though Kate can see that her phone has a green light.
Charlotte says they volunteered to get the packs that they threw out of the chopper. “So what’s that?” Kate asks, pointing to their bag. “Just borrowed this,” Daniel says. Kate asks if she can take a look.
“Go ahead Dan, show her,” Charlotte says. Daniel puts the bag down. Kate opens the bag and sees the gas masks. Charlotte knocks her over the head with the gun.
“What?” she asks Daniel with a shrug.
Later Juliet walks into the station. Daniel is at the computer. “Override denied,” the speakers continue to say as Daniel types frantically. Juliet pulls the gun on Daniel. “Juliet, what are you doing here?” he says.
Juliet tells Daniel to step away from the computer. “I’m so sorry, I can’t do that,” he replies. He says that he’s trying to make the gas inert. “I’m trying to make it safe.”
Charlotte attacks her from behind. The two scuffle around the floor as Daniel pounds on the computer. The contamination level is increasing. Juliet pulls the gun on Charlotte and tells her to tell Daniel to stop. Charlotte says that Ben will use the gas to kill everyone on the island. The countdown stops at 2 seconds and shuts down. The levels begin to fall. “That … that was a close one,” Daniel says.
