Lost - Sawyer Dies - Theory

by Nikki on May 1st, 2008

Lost
Theories

I saw an interesting theory that said that Sawyer would die because his daughter’s name is Clementine. That in itself means nothing, BUT for the fact that there is the song, Oh My Darling Clementine.

The song starts out:

In a cavern, in a canyon,
Excavating for a mine,
Dwelt a miner, forty-niner
And his daughter - Clementine

CHORUS:
Oh my Darling, Oh my Darling,
Oh my Darling Clementine.
Thou art lost and gone forever,
Dreadful sorry, Clementine.

And a couple of verses later…

Then the miner, forty-niner,
Soon began to peak and pine,
Thought he oughter join his daughter,
Now he’s with his Clementine.

Food for thought!

Wikipedia says this is what the song is about:
“…a bereaved lover singing about his darling, the daughter of a “49er”, He loses her in a drowning accident – though he consoles himself towards the end of the song with Clementine’s “little sister”.

So, I don’t know what this has to do with Sawyer dying.
