Lost - Could Charlotte Be Annie or Annie’s Daughter

During the Lost Season 4 Finale there was an interesting little bit of information revealed about Charlotte’s motives. Miles asks her why she wants to leave the Island, considering she spent so much time trying to find it in the first place. And Charlotte has also said that she’s searching for the place she was born. So perhaps Charlotte was born on the Island?
And if Charlotte was born on the island, could that make her Ben’s lost childhood friend, Annie? That’s what some are speculating. But there are many arguments against this theory, only some of which can be explained!
Arguments against Charlotte being Annie:
- Charlotte has red hair and a British accent. Annie had blonde hair and no accent. This could have changed as Annie aged, or she could have dyed her hair, but why?
- Charlotte is only 25 on the island. Annie would be a couple decades older. This could be explained by the strange time-nuances of the island…
- Ben seemed to know everything about Charlotte AND he tried to shoot and kill her. Would he have done this if he knew it was Annie?
If Charlotte isn’t Annie, perhaps she is Annie and Ben’s daughter? But the third argument above still stands. Ben seems to know everything about Charlotte. Even if he didn’t know he had a daughter, wouldn’t he still know who her mother is?

The mothers die on the island when giving birth, but do the babies survive? I don’t remember seeing if they do or don’t. That’s provided Charlotte’s mother didn’t conceive before arriving on the island, a la Claire.
I like your thinking, though.
My personal thought…she’s a Widmore. Penny’s sister or half sister, and ultimately the daughter Ben kills. Charles Widmore may or may not even know about her.
I don’t think the babies survive. The mothers only make it (at the most) to the end of their 2nd trimester. I don’t think they have a neo-natal clinic on the island! Also, remember, they were so anxious to have the children who survived the crash.
So, if she was born on the island, it’s probably like you said, conceived elsewhere.
I did think of Annie as well. There must be some kind of Ben/Widmore connection here.

I don’t think that Charlotte is Annie. You’re right saying that Charlotte had red hair and Annie has blonde (except that Annie’s hair color was brown and not blonde) and that Charlotte had an accent and Annie none. Also if Annie was Charlotte, then wouldn’t she have recognized Ben, or vice-versa?
