Episode 1.10: Raised by Another
Claire runs out of the bathroom holding a pregnancy test. Thomas says maybe they can work it out but Claire says that her mother would disown her. She also wonders how they can support a baby on her $5 an hour job. Thomas says that he has his painting.
Claire goes with a friend to a psychic. The psychic asks when she found out about the baby and Claire responds that it was two days earlier. After a moment he drops her hands and says that he can’t do her reading. Claire is frightened.
Months later Claire and Thomas fight. He accuses her of trapping him with the pregnancy and leaves.
Claire goes to the psychic again and begs him to do the reading. He agrees and then tells her that it is crucial that she raise the baby herself. “Danger surrounds this child. Your nature, your spirit, your goodness must be an influence.” He gives her the money back. Claire insists that she is giving the baby up for adoption.
The psychic calls her several times and says he has a plan but Claire won’t listen. She meets with the Stewards, a couple who want to adopt her baby. After she attempts to sign the paperwork and two pens fail, Claire says she can’t do it and runs out.
Claire goes back to the psychic. He gives her money and says she must go to Los Angeles. He says there is a family there who is eager to adopt and he’s sure the baby will be safe there. He gives her an Oceanic ticket. Claire says she can’t go “tomorrow”. He tells her that it has to be this flight. “Flight 815.”
Episode 3.12: Par Avion
Claire is in a car with blood on her forehead and in her hair. A woman lies in the street in front of her car. Claire can’t open the door so she crawls out the windshield. She goes to the woman and yells, “Mum!”
Later at the hospital Claire gets her head wound stitched by a doctor. An officer asks how fast she was going. Claire swears the accident wasn’t her fault. She goes to her mother’s room where she argues with her Aunt Lindsey. The surgeon appears and says that her mother had extensive head trauma and may be on life-support indefinitely. Lindsey says they can’t pay for it but the surgeon says it has been taken care of.
Claire is working when her father, Christian Shepherd, walks in. Claire is upset and wants to know why he wasn’t part of her life. Christian blames it on Lindsey and the fact that Claire’s mom didn’t like that he had “another family”. He suggests that she turn off her mother’s life support and Claire gets very angry. As he leaves, Christian tells her not to keep her mother alive out of guilt.
Claire goes to visit her mother in the hospital. She is still in a coma. Claire talks small talk and fixes the blankets. She then tells her mother that she’s pregnant but she’s giving it away. “It’s for the best. I don’t know how you did it, raising me alone. And I was just awful. So hard on you.” Claire then says she’s sorry for saying all the awful things in the car and that she hated her and wished she were dead. Claire says it’s all her fault and she’s so sorry.

I think we’ve read that we won’t see Claire this coming season, but will have to wait until the next…
I would like to see how the rest of her story (and Aaron’s) unfolds!!
