Popular Mechanics decodes Season 6 poster

October 19, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Remember the Season 6 promotional image that was unveiled back at Comic-Con? The one that includes a shot of every single major character who ever appeared on the show? Also part of that image were the words “The Final Season,” which feature hieroglyphs behind the letters.

Popular Mechanics contacted an Egyptologist at Brown University and got him to translate the hieroglyphs. He told the magazine that it translates as either “Who is the guide?” or “Who is the leader?”

I’m always amazed at Lost’s foresight at planting intelligent Easter Eggs of this magnitude and assume that someone, somewhere, will eventually figure it out. Incredible.

So who do you suppose “the guide” or “the leader” is?
