Abrams & Lindelof not filming Dark Tower

November 12, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Not too long ago, it was reported that Stephen King sold the rights to his magnum opus, the seven-book The Dark Tower series, to J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof. Everyone assumed that Abrams and Lindelof would someday take on the challenge of bringing King’s complex fantasy series to the big screen.

But now Abrams and Lindelof both are saying that they’ve decided the challenge is bigger and trickier and than they feel up to just now. The two men are enormous fans of the books, but they’re “terrified of screwing it up.” So, no Abrams/Lindelof Dark Tower films. At least, not anytime soon.
