What’s Juliet’s status on LOST? Plus: V

May 20, 2009 by Robin Parrish

According to Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly, actress Elizabeth Mitchell will not be back in Season 6 as a full-time castmember. However, Ausiello also says, “Multiple sources confirm that the actress is expected to appear in an unspecified number of episodes next season.” I have no idea what that means for the fate of Juliet Burke, but I’m glad she’s not gone forever.

In related news, ABC announced in its “upfront” presentation of new shows for Fall 2009 that its remake of the alien invasion saga V has been picked up as a series and will debut sometime midseason. Which, by the way, puts it right smack-dab around the same time that Lost returns for Season 6. (Would you watch a two-hour block of Lost and V back-to-back?) Also included in the presentation was news that Elizabeth Mitchell is not a mere guest star, as previously reported, but is in fact the ensemble’s lead character, Erica Evans. Evans is rumored to be the leader of the human resistance against the alien invasion. The full cast is shown in an ABC promotional image, at right. Some early peeks at the pilot episode for V are below.

Not included in ABC’s renewals for Fall is Harold Perrineau’s new cop drama, The Unusuals. Perrineau is remembered by Lost fans as Michael Dawson.

What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation

April 23, 2009 by Robin Parrish

The break in between episodes this week got me to thinking about how there are only 3 more Wednesday nights remaining with new Lost episodes in all of 2009. We won’t see the 6th and final season until January 2010, and it will be much later this year before filming begins. So just what have Lost’s main cast members — past and present — been doing and what will they do with all that downtime?

Let’s have a look at what they’re up to, and where else they can be seen in the near future. (Note that Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn, Henry Ian Cusick, Jeremy Davies, Ken Leung, and Michael Emerson are not currently listed as being involved in any other projects.)

Harold Perrineau has just signed on to joint the cast of the indie thriller Killing Jar. In the movie, which stars Michael madsen and Danny Trejo, Harold plays a hostage - a traveling salesman named John.

Perrineau is also executive producing the project and filming is set to start this weekend in North Carolina.

Mark Young wrote the script and is also directing the film. It follows a stranger armed with a shotgun who takes seven patrons hostage at a remote roadside diner. As the body count rises, the survivors discover that one of the hostages might be more dangerous than their captor.

Why do I have this feeling that Perrineau is that guy?!? Did you see him in Felon? Yikes!

harold-perrineau-NC.jpgWith Michael seemingly dead, Harold Perrineau has some time to do make some films!! On July 18th, check out Felon - starring Harold Perrineau, Stephen Dorff, Val Kilmer, Sam Shephard, Marisol Nichols, Anne Archer, and Nate Parker.

The plot line follows Wade Porter (Stephen Dorff) who lives a modest but comfortable life with a young family. Wade runs a fledgling business and has a promising future ahead. Of course his life is changed when he’s convicted of killing a man while protecting his fiancee and their three year old son.

Harold Perrineau Talks More About His Lost Departure

June 2, 2008 by Nikki Katz

harold-perrineau-NC.jpgHarold Perrineau recently chatted about his unhappiness regarding his character’s fate on Lost.

Entertainment Weekly chatted with Perrineau after the interview to see if he would elaborate on those thoughts.

Perrineau says that he’s not bitter about Michael dying, but he is disappointed. “I thought he was going to have something just as significant when he came back. I was disappointed that he didn’t. He didn’t get to make amends with those people. And nobody got to see [him try to neutralize the bomb]. Walt didn’t get to see it. Jin got to see it, but wasn’t necessarily so mad at him. And Desmond, who Michael didn’t know at all, was there. I was disappointed more than anything, like the fans were disappointed. Like I think the fans were disappointed.

As for going public with his feelings regarding his character being “black” and leaving his child fatherless, Perrineau says Read more

Harold Perrineau Not too Happy About His Exit

May 30, 2008 by Nikki Katz

lost-michael-walt-NC.jpgTV Guide sat down with Harold Perrineau and chatted about his untimely exit from Lost.

Harold had no idea that his character was going to be killed off. “It’s like, what the hell? I came back for that?” Harold says. “I’m disappointed, mostly because I wanted Michael and Walt to have a happy ending. I was hoping Michael would get it together and actually want to be a father to his kid and try to figure out a way to get back [home]. But this is [the producers'] story. If I were writing it, I would write it differently.

Harold says that Lindelof and Cuse called him before the final scripts were out to let him know that the Michael storyline was not going to continue. Harold thought it was a waste. “At this point, I’ve been on the island, off the island, back on the island — so I just went, “Oh, ok.” [Laughs] This is their show and they know what they can or cannot write. I thought it was disappointing and a waste to come back, only to get beat up a few times and then killed. I felt like it was sort of pandering to some fans who wanted to see Michael punished because he betrayed people.

Harold admits his disappointment regarding Michael and Walt being unable to reconnect. He even goes so far to call it a bad black stereotype…
