LOST on Ace of Cakes Saturday night!

May 8, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Do not — I repeat, DO NOT — miss Ace of Cakes on the Food Network this Saturday night at 9. The entire crew from Charm City Cakes flies to Hawaii to make a cake for Lost’s 100th episode, when Hurley himself, actor Jorge Garcia, calls up CCC and orders a special cake for the celebration. The Charm City gang — all of whom are MAJOR Lost geeks — ends up getting to visit the set, meet most of the actors, and go on a full tour of the production!

This five minute teaser is every bit as good as any extra on the Lost DVD sets, and it’s only a small part of the Ace of Cakes episode. This is going to be a real treat for all Losties, right here before the season finale, so DO NOT miss it!

LOST stars attend Star Trek premiere

May 5, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Last Thursday night, JJ Abrams’ Star Trek made its U.S. premiere in the heart of Hollywood, California. Grauman’s Chinese Theatre was the setting for the all-star gala, and several familiar faces from Lost turned out to help celebrate the latest work from Lost co-creators JJ Abrams (Star Trek director) and Damon Lindelof (Star Trek producer). Thumbnails of the stars on the red carpet are below and after the jump; click to enlarge.

What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation

April 23, 2009 by Robin Parrish

The break in between episodes this week got me to thinking about how there are only 3 more Wednesday nights remaining with new Lost episodes in all of 2009. We won’t see the 6th and final season until January 2010, and it will be much later this year before filming begins. So just what have Lost’s main cast members — past and present — been doing and what will they do with all that downtime?

Let’s have a look at what they’re up to, and where else they can be seen in the near future. (Note that Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn, Henry Ian Cusick, Jeremy Davies, Ken Leung, and Michael Emerson are not currently listed as being involved in any other projects.)

Jorge Garcia on The Bonnie Hunt Show

April 21, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Actor Jorge Garcia (Hurley) says that the season finale of Lost, titled “The Incident,” is finally going to reveal (among other things) the reason Hurley got on Ajira 316. He says we can also expect to learn a little bit more about Jacob.

Watch for the moment when Garcia shares about what a hard time he has keeping a straight face around Matthew Fox. My favorite part is near the end where they talk about (and show) some of Garcia’s homemade Halloween costumes. HI-larious.

LOST vids for 5.11 “Whatever Happened, Happened”

April 3, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Here’s ABC’s Lost Untangled for this week’s episode, which catches you up on all the major events from “Whatever Happened, Happened,” in under five minutes:

Next, let’s take a look at the Official Lost Video Podcast. This one’s a real treat this week, as it features actors Jorge Garcia (Hurley) and Ken Leung (Miles) in between takes during the filming of their amusing scene from “Whatever Happened, Happened” where they argue over the finer points of time travel. The two of them trying to figure out how it all works makes their real-life discussion about time travel every bit as funny as the scripted one.

Garcia reveals Ace of Cakes‘ LOST cake

February 16, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Last week, I told you about a special upcoming episode of Food Network’s Ace of Cakes, which is devoted to Lost as the cake-making crew descends on Hawaii for a special episode. The episode is Ace’s season finale, and the cake is in honor of Lost’s 100th ep. At last we have a full view of the cake Duff Goldman (pictured) and his crew made for the Lost crew, thanks to Jorge Garcia (Hurley), who has posted several personal snaps of it on his blog. It’s very cool and worth a look, because it features lots of little goodies for Lost fans, including the Spanish comic book, Hurley’s shitzu tshirt, a computer with the cursed numbers, Dharma beer, and the entire cast!

New official Lost podcast: 01/23/09

January 23, 2009 by Robin Parrish

ABC has released a new Lost podcast, this one in preparation for next week’s episode, 5.03 “Jughead.” Jorge Garcia appears and talks about 5.02 “The Lie,” and Hurley’s decision to turn himself into the police as a way of escaping from Ben. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse answer a fan question from Comic-Con about the Dharma food drops to the island.

LOST cast & crew on Season 5

January 20, 2009 by Robin Parrish

'Et Apres' - Paris Premiere

The many hard-working folks who bring us Lost every week have been busy feeding the hype machine lately. (Note that there are no Season 5 spoilers in any of these interviews.)

In the Actors column, Rebecca Mader (Charlotte) talked to the Toronto Sun about “finding her geeks” and appreciating Lost’s unique fanbase. Jorge Garcia (Hurley) tells AOL about shooting Season 5, his reaction to Hurley’s backstory connection to the cursed numbers, and what he thinks Season 6 will be about. And Evangeline Lilly (Kate), pictured above at a film opening in Paris, is highlighted in a local feature article in the Honolulu Advisor, about the young actor who plays 3-year-old Aaron on the show, and the sweet friendship he has with “Evie.”

From the Production side of things, the New York Times spotlights script coordinator Gregg Nations, who has compiled an exhaustive archive that the writers use internally to keep track of every last detail. His War & Peace-sized database, as he describes it, is said to contain timelines, charts, dossiers, maps, and more. (What wouldn’t any serious Lost fan give to get their hands on that!?) Co-producer Steven Williams tells CTV.ca that finishing the show next season will be gratifying but also “emotionally torturous” for the cast and crew. And Cleveland.com has an interview with native son and Lost writer/co-producer Brian K. Vaughan. Vaughan is known for his success as a comic book writer before joining the writing team at Lost, and he talks about the differences in writing for comics vs. TV, among other topics.

January 19, 2009 by Robin Parrish

The second batch of cast videos (watch all 31 here) features everyone’s two favorite ghost whisperers: Ken Leung (Miles) and Jorge Garcia (Hurley). The first of six is below, the remaining five are after the jump.

Ken Leung: How much does he know about Miles’ backstory?

Sky1 interview

December 23, 2008 by Robin Parrish

Sky1 in the UK recently got to interview Naveen Andrews (Sayid), Jorge Garcia (Hurley), and Terry O’Quinn (Locke). The trio chatted about their favorite moments from Season 4 and their predictions for Season 5. These five minutes are worth your time:
