Getting LOST: Is Boone returning?

June 11, 2009 by Robin Parrish

There are some crazy rumors flying around the Net this week that several (or possibly all!) of the deceased former passengers of Oceanic 815 could be returning to the show for its sixth and final season. Amid swirling bits about Charlie (aka actor Dominic Monaghan) and Shannon (Maggie Grace) possibly making respective comebacks, TV Guide throws fuel on the fire with word straight from actor Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone in the show’s first season, that his return is a very strong possibility.

Is this just actors’ wishful thinking? Or is there a time-has-been-rewritten-so-they’re-not-dead-anymore reunion in the works for all of the show’s stars of yesteryear? Hmm.

What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation

April 23, 2009 by Robin Parrish

The break in between episodes this week got me to thinking about how there are only 3 more Wednesday nights remaining with new Lost episodes in all of 2009. We won’t see the 6th and final season until January 2010, and it will be much later this year before filming begins. So just what have Lost’s main cast members — past and present — been doing and what will they do with all that downtime?

Let’s have a look at what they’re up to, and where else they can be seen in the near future. (Note that Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn, Henry Ian Cusick, Jeremy Davies, Ken Leung, and Michael Emerson are not currently listed as being involved in any other projects.)

Maggie Grace on Taken and LOST

January 26, 2009 by Robin Parrish

Maggie Grace is known to Lost fans as Shannon Rutherford one of the show’s first casualties near the beginning of Season 2. Grace is currently starring as Liam Neeson’s daughter in the thriller Taken (pictured above), but recently spoke to Universal Press about whether or not she’d ever return to Lost’s mysterious island.

When asked about that very thing, she replied, “Who knows?” which you can take to mean something along the lines of, “Depends on whether or not they invite me.” She says has a hard time watching the show these days because of her friendships with the cast; she likens it to watching “a moving yearbook,” and can’t separate the people she knows from the show’s storylines. She also defends her numerous co-stars who’ve been penalized by the Hawaiian police for driving infractions:

In their defense, we were filming out in these pineapple fields in the middle of the North Shore and I think the speed limit is about 12, so most of the guys on the show aren’t really compatible with the speed limit of 12. Not that I’m saying it’s okay to break the law. But it’s a pineapple field, so you can see how that logic takes over.

Going back to her answer about possibly returning to Lost, despite her character’s death (which we know doesn’t preclude anyone from putting in repeat appearances on the show), it got me thinking about all the little cameos we’ve seen over the years from the likes of Boone, Charlie, Libby, and most recently, Ana-Lucia. And I can’t help wondering… What would it be like if there was an episode in the show’s final season next year when every character who’s died on the island appeared, all at the same time?

The show’s racked up quite the body count over the years, so such a reunion of the dearly departed would include Boone, Shannon, Ana-Lucia, Libby, Eko, Charlie, Michael, Danielle, Alex, Carl, Nikki, Paolo, Naomi, Ethan Rom, Goodwin, Kate’s captor the U.S. Marshall, Tom the Other & several of his “Other” friends, Locke’s father, Dr. Arzt, and dozens of others I can’t think of right now. What do you suppose that would be like?
