More from TCA panel

Here’s some additional info gleaned from yesterday’s TCA Lost panel. No spoilers here.

There’s still been no progress in scheduling a time for Maggie Grace to return as Shannon, due to the actress’s busy film schedule. But the producers haven’t given up hope.
The appearances from Cynthia Watros and Harold Perrineau will come in the second half of the season. Katey Segal’s return as Helen comes in “the first third” of the season.
There’s no current plans to incorporate Malcolm David Kelley (Walt) into the final season, due to the actor’s age difference to his character. But the producers would like to work …read more

Stop the press – maybe Maggie Grace isn’t coming back

Stop the press – maybe Maggie Grace isn’t coming back

Uh-oh.
E! Online is reporting that despite earlier reports, actress Maggie Grace may not be returning to Lost for the final season, after all. If you’ll recall, Kristin Dos Santos posted a blind news item a few weeks ago about a former cast member of the show who had been asked to come back but hadn’t agreed to (yet). Though speculation was that Harold Perrineau was the holdout (which Perrineau quickly refuted), it turns out Grace was the holdout in question.
Apparently, Maggie Grace has just finished filming three movies back to back, and hasn’t had time in her schedule to go …read more

Casting news: 2 returnees & a notable noob

Casting news: 2 returnees & a notable noob

Three bits of fascinating casting for Season 6 for you this morning. The first two you might call mildly spoilery, though I can’t imagine anyone who’ll be terribly surprised by either.
As expected (though never guaranteed), Maggie Grace is heading back to Hawaii to film some scenes for Lost’s 6th season as Shannon Rutherford.
Titus Welliver, who played Man #2/Jacob’s Nemesis/the-man-fans-call-”Esau” in the Season 5 finale, is returning in some capacity for Season 6. My money is on more flashbacks between him and Jacob, fleshing out their story and relationship further.
Lastly, Carlton Cuse revealed yesterday via his Twitter account that character actor …read more

Comic-Con countdown: 2005 panel

Comic-Con countdown: 2005 panel

Comic-Con ‘09 is almost here! To help get you in the mood, all this week I’m posting video from Comic-Con Lost panels of years past. Lost has the distinction of being the first-ever TV show to screen its pilot episode for Comic-Con audiences prior to its TV broadcast. (Much of Lost’s tremendous Season 1 buzz owes directly to that at-the-time revolutionary marketing tactic. Today it’s become standard operating procedure for new genre shows.)
Sadly, there is no existing footage available from Comic-Con 2004, when the pilot was screened. So we start with 2005, when Lost had just ended its stellar first …read more

The gang’s all here in Season 6?

The gang’s all here in Season 6?

Dark UFO is reporting a “pretty accurate” rumor that they’ve been sent from a casting agency representative that the producers of Lost are trying to get contracts signed with many — if not all — of the former cast members of the show for “multiple episodes” in Season 6.
The rumor even goes so far as to name several actors included on the list of potential re-hires: Maggie Grace (Shannon), Ian Sommerhalder (Boone), Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), Harold Perrineau (Michael), Rebecca Mader (Charlotte), Michelle Rodriguez (Ana-Lucia), Cynthia Watros (Libby), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Eko), and supporting players Clancy Brown (Kelvin Inman), Daniel Roebuck (Dr. …read more

Getting LOST: Is Boone returning?

Getting LOST: Is Boone returning?

There are some crazy rumors flying around the Net this week that several (or possibly all!) of the deceased former passengers of Oceanic 815 could be returning to the show for its sixth and final season. Amid swirling bits about Charlie (aka actor Dominic Monaghan) and Shannon (Maggie Grace) possibly making respective comebacks, TV Guide throws fuel on the fire with word straight from actor Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone in the show’s first season, that his return is a very strong possibility.
Is this just actors’ wishful thinking? Or is there a time-has-been-rewritten-so-they’re-not-dead-anymore reunion in the works for all of …read more

What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation

What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation

The break in between episodes this week got me to thinking about how there are only 3 more Wednesday nights remaining with new Lost episodes in all of 2009. We won’t see the 6th and final season until January 2010, and it will be much later this year before filming begins. So just what have Lost’s main cast members — past and present — been doing and what will they do with all that downtime?
Let’s have a look at what they’re up to, and where else they can be seen in the near future. (Note that Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae …read more

Maggie Grace on Taken and LOST

Maggie Grace on Taken and LOST

Maggie Grace is known to Lost fans as Shannon Rutherford one of the show’s first casualties near the beginning of Season 2. Grace is currently starring as Liam Neeson’s daughter in the thriller Taken (pictured above), but recently spoke to Universal Press about whether or not she’d ever return to Lost’s mysterious island.
When asked about that very thing, she replied, “Who knows?” which you can take to mean something along the lines of, “Depends on whether or not they invite me.” She says has a hard time watching the show these days because of her friendships with the cast; she …read more
