Matthew Fox talks Season 6
June 10, 2009 by Robin Parrish
Matthew Fox is currently in Monte Carlo for a television festival happening there, and during an interview, he’s provided some spoilery/teasery clues about what’s to come in Season 6. He doesn’t actually reveal any answers, but he drops some juicy hints about what he knows. The ODI provides the goods:
- Fox always knew that Jack and Locke would go head-to-head in Season 6, though he doesn’t know now if that means the real Locke or Jacob’s enemy in Locke’s form.
- The first scene of Season 6 will explain what happened when the Jughead hydrogen bomb exploded in 1977. Fox says that at first, it will be “both confusing and surprising” to the audience.
- About one third through Season 6, there will become one solidified timeline on the island, with no more flashbacks. (It’s uncertain here if he’s referring to some kind of joining of the 1977 and 2007 time periods, or an amalgamation of current history and the altered history that may have happened when Jughead blew.)
- He says that he is continually surprised at how “moving” the end of the show is going to be.
Final LOST Official Video Podcast of 2009
May 11, 2009 by Robin Parrish
Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, & Elizabeth Mitchell weigh in on Jack’s plan to erase time by detonating a hydrogen bomb in the season finale of Lost, in this week’s Official Lost Video Podcast. Note that, as the headline says, this will be the last regular video podcast expected in 2009 (barring anything special) from ABC. With no further ado…
LOST stars attend Star Trek premiere
May 5, 2009 by Robin Parrish
Last Thursday night, JJ Abrams’ Star Trek made its U.S. premiere in the heart of Hollywood, California. Grauman’s Chinese Theatre was the setting for the all-star gala, and several familiar faces from Lost turned out to help celebrate the latest work from Lost co-creators JJ Abrams (Star Trek director) and Damon Lindelof (Star Trek producer). Thumbnails of the stars on the red carpet are below and after the jump; click to enlarge.

What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation
April 23, 2009 by Robin Parrish
The break in between episodes this week got me to thinking about how there are only 3 more Wednesday nights remaining with new Lost episodes in all of 2009. We won’t see the 6th and final season until January 2010, and it will be much later this year before filming begins. So just what have Lost’s main cast members — past and present — been doing and what will they do with all that downtime?
Let’s have a look at what they’re up to, and where else they can be seen in the near future. (Note that Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn, Henry Ian Cusick, Jeremy Davies, Ken Leung, and Michael Emerson are not currently listed as being involved in any other projects.)
A gaggle of LOST videos
March 20, 2009 by Robin Parrish
It’s Friday. And that means it’s time to goof off at work while you wait for the clock to free you from your occupational bonds.
(C’mon. Am I wrong?)
So here for your boredom-soothing pleasure, are a whole flock of videos related to Lost, and to this week’s episode, “Namaste,” in particular. You’ll find the official ABC recap and podcast, new interviews with Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly, and a new edition of “Getting Lost” from TV Guide.
Let’s start with the always-amusing ABC recap, aka “Lost Untangled,” for this week’s ep. All other videos will be after the jump.
Sky1 interviews with LOST cast & producers
March 13, 2009 by Robin Parrish
Televisionary’s Jace Lacob got the chance to sit down for some on-screen interviews with various Lost personalities, on behalf of the U.K.’s Sky1 television network, and the videos from those chats are now online.
In the first, he talks to executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, asking some pointed questions about the futures of Libby, Walt, and what’s to come. (Prepare to be disappointed about at least two of those.) They also offer a definitive answer to the theory that the “Adam & Eve” skeletons are, in fact, the real Adam & Eve. (The answer: no, they’re not the real Adam & Eve. So much for that theory!)
The second video features snippets from Matthew Fox (Jack), Evangeline Lilly (Kate), and Michael Emerson (Ben). Lacob asks them how much their characters have changed from where they started, and what we can expect from them the rest of this season. Lilly talks about Kate’s mysterious decision to return to the island, and Emerson drops a big hint about who Ben answers to.
LOST 5.07 podcast & Untangled
February 26, 2009 by Robin Parrish
ABC has released the latest editions of Lost Untangled, the 5-minute retrospective on what happened in each new episode, and the official Lost podcast.
Up first is Untangled, which I didn’t care for as much as past episodes. The silly vocal impression of John Locke is so off it ruins the whole thing for me. But it has a few good moments.
The official Lost podcast this week zeroes in on Matthew Fox and his character, Jack Shephard. Fox talks about his character’s evolution over the course of the last five seasons, and his take on where Jack is at now.
LOST Season 5 cast interviews: Part Four
January 21, 2009 by Robin Parrish
Due to technical difficulties yesterday (my internet service was out all day, grrr), I’m condensing this planned series of 6 posts into just 5, so the last two will run today.
Part Four (see Parts One, Two, and Three) includes insights from Michael Emerson (Ben), and for all the “Jate” fans out there, both Evangeline Lilly (Kate) and Matthew Fox (Jack). There are 7 videos in all, so be sure to check them all out after the jump.
Matthew Fox: How long will it take for the Oceanic 6 to get back to the island?
LOST: Season 5 hype heats up
January 14, 2009 by Robin Parrish
I’ve got a trio of great Lost interviews to share with you today, from all around the Net, which demonstrate just how high the Hype Meter has risen in anticipation of Season 5’s premier next Wednesday.
The first (and probably best) is by The Chicago Tribune’s Maureen Ryan, aka “The Watcher,” who talks at length with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. She has quite the in-depth interview with them, despite giving away no spoilers for the coming season. She manages to pull lots of tantalizing hints out of them, though, and even gets them to go on the record about what’s coming in Season 6.
Next up is a one-on-one with Matthew Fox from Details magazine. He talks about how much he enjoys working on the show, and says it’s a “relief” knowing that there are only two more seasons to go, that there is a definitive ending to his character’s storyline and the overall story of the show. Get inside details about Fox’s view of Jack Shephard here.
Last, New York magazine offers yet another interview with Michael Emerson. He reveals that the Temple will be seen this season on Lost, and his belief that the Others will be depicted as “less malevolent as time goes by.” Read more of his intriguing thoughts and revelations (how awesome is it that he’s a Battlestar Galactica fan?!).
Stay tuned… Lots more updates to come as the news flies fast and furious…

Matthew Fox headed out to the GQ Men of the Year party on Tuesday night at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont hotel. Matthew threw out a semi-fake smile as he stood by his car in jeans, a t-shirt, and black jacket
