What the LOSTies are doing on Summer vacation

April 23, 2009 by Robin Parrish

The break in between episodes this week got me to thinking about how there are only 3 more Wednesday nights remaining with new Lost episodes in all of 2009. We won’t see the 6th and final season until January 2010, and it will be much later this year before filming begins. So just what have Lost’s main cast members — past and present — been doing and what will they do with all that downtime?

Let’s have a look at what they’re up to, and where else they can be seen in the near future. (Note that Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn, Henry Ian Cusick, Jeremy Davies, Ken Leung, and Michael Emerson are not currently listed as being involved in any other projects.)

The entire original cast, including Lost alumnus Michelle Rodriguez, returns in Fast & Furious, the fourth and seemingly final film in the franchise. Yahoo! Movies has the trailer.

The story goes like this:

When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmaneuver him. Michelle Rodriguez Released

January 10, 2008 by Nikki Katz

michelle-rodriguez.jpgMichelle Rodriguez has been released from jail early after just 17 days, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Web site.

She had checked in on December 23rd to begin serving her sentence of 180 days for violating probation stemming from her DUI arrest. Michelle admitted to violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of community service and for drinking three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring anklet.

“She’s nice, personable, down to earth … nothing like Paris Hilton!” a correctional officer told Us a few days into her stint. “She asked to work,” the source said of the star who helped in the kitchen. “She said she wanted a job and didn’t want to be isolated like other celebs.”

Michelle Rodriguez is joining the cast of ‘Titanic’ director James Cameron’s new sci-fi epic ‘Avatar’. She’ll play the part of an ex-marine pilot. “Michelle Rodriguez is someone I’ve wanted to work with since I saw ‘Girlfight’ seven years ago,” said Cameron.

Variety says that Rodriguez will star opposite Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Wes Studi and CCH Pounder in the film, which is currently in production in Los Angeles.

‘Avatar’ tells the story of a wounded ex-marine (Worthington) who joins the indigenous people of an exotic planet in their battle against those who want to exploit its resources.

The film has a budget of $190m and will mix live-action and animation; it will be shot in the new 3-D format.

‘Avatar’ is due for release on 22 May 2009.
