Short on answers but long on character development, “What Kate Does” put Kate Austen in the spotlight for an examination of what makes her tick — no matter where she finds herself.
It was a much more straightforward, easy-to-follow episode than the 2-hour brain-bender that came before it. And the few big answers (or rather, clues) it provided, had nothing to do with Kate at all, but with a certain someone else…

In the premiere episode of Season 6, the gloves came off, the avalanche of answers began, and things were just as head-scratchingly maddening as ever. In other words, Lost is back, baby! For one last hurrah.
It was not easy stuff to wrap one’s head around, so do yourself a favor and allow yours truly to guide you smoothly through the wildly imaginative waters of Lost’s final season. I even saw enough to formulate my first theory on what’s really going on and how it’s all going to end.

Locke and Ben finally meet face-to-face with Jacob, while Jack receives unexpected help in his attempt to change history.

Jacob is revealed as Locke tries to manipulate Ben, while Sawyer, Kate, and Juliet try to stop Jack from detonating the bomb.

Locke finally takes up his mantle as leader of the Others, and in doing so reveals a startling plan. In 1977, the survivors try to escape from the Dharma Initiative, but Jack becomes convinced that changing history is what they were brought back here to do.

Daniel returns to the island with an urgent, daring plan to get all of the castaways back to where they belong — a plan that divides the survivors.

Miles gets caught in the middle of Dharma Initiative secrets, which bring him face to face with demons from his own past.

Ben sets off with Locke to fulfill the reason he came back to the island, but along the way he learns just how much Locke has changed.

Kate goes to great lengths to save young Ben’s life, while Jack infuriates everyone by refusing to do anything to help.
