Matthew Fox headed out to the GQ Men of the Year party on Tuesday night at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont hotel. Matthew threw out a semi-fake smile as he stood by his car in jeans, a t-shirt, and black jacket

On the GQ list for the year were President-elect Barack Obama (Game Changer), Olympian Michael Phelp (Golden Boy), actors Leonardo DiCaprio (Leading Man) and Jon Hamm (Breakout) - all of whom made the individual covers.

Matthew Fox talks at Comic Con about not being sure how the story-telling will work in Lost Season 5. “I can’t wait to see what that is,” he says. They’re trying to get rid of the word “flash” in flash-forward and flashback!!

Matthew also hopes we’ll be seeing Jack’s path of redemption in Season 5. His attempt to get the Oceanic Six back on the island will be a key focus. This will begin a process of Jack learning who he is and he will gain strength in this process.

Wowsers! Matthew Fox just landed quite the pay raise. Word came out today that Fox is now going to make $225k per episode for the upcoming season of Lost. This amount matches the amount of the girls on Desperate Housewives!

Fox previously made approximately $150,k per episode. Of course the other cast members on Lost are negotiating for raises as well.

Representatives for ABC Studios and Fox’s agency and management reps declined comment.

Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly are said to be in negotiations with ABC for a Lost pay rise.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that ABC is willing to up their salaries (approximately $150k per episode) for Lost Season 5.

Of course when the news was leaked, reps for the other Lost actors called the network, keen on getting in on the deal!!

Matthew Fox chats with Access Hollywood right after the Lost Comic Con panel. They ask him why the audience didn’t ask more questions regarding the upcoming season. “I think maybe they’re so confused now … ” Matthew speculates! He thinks maybe they enjoy being patient and are excited where things left off.

Matthew says he’s looking forward to getting the first script. He also feels that Jack has finally gone to the pit of despair and realizes he has to take a leap of faith and go back to the Island. “I think he knows at this point that being away from the Island is killing him,” he says.

Another interview at Comic Con, this time with IO9! Matthew Fox chats about the scene between Jack and Locke at the end of Lost Season 4. Matthew says that the scene was pretty loaded. “Jack had reached the end of his rope in what he believes at that time is just Locke’s complete delusion, leading people that Jack feels very very responsible for, down not a good road.”

At the funeral hall Matthew says that Jack doesn’t feel sorry for anything, but he is finally coming to terms with the fact that Locke is right.

Matthew Fox made a surprise appearance during yesterday’s Comic Con panel. Matthew arrived about 30 minutes into the panel, and his entrance was timed to correspond to an argument between Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse - where they discussed whether or not the Jack figurine really looked like Matthew. Matthew Fox’s L’Oreal ad came out a year ago, but check out this making of the video! Matthew worked with director Joe Carnahan, who he has worked professionally with in the past. Matthew says he always has great ideas. Joe says that it was interesting because he didn’t have a background in beauty products! Matthew also chats about the cars (”driving a Mustang today was a lot of fun”) and he also talks about taking care of himself and using the L’Oreal product line.

Matthew Fox hasn’t been used as the front man for any of his recent films, but that’s about to change! Although Matthew had starring roles in Speed Racer, Vantage Point and We Are Marshal - none of these were promoted as Matthew Fox films.

But now Matthew is in negotiations to star in Warner Bros. “Billy Smoke“, based on the comic about a hit man who seeks redemption, per VARIETY.

The story centers on an elite hit-man who is nearly killed during a botched job. He realizes that his only way to find redemption is to rid the world of all assassins. The comic book series, written by B. Clay Moore and illustrated by Eric Kim, will be published next year.
