As we speak, the finale is underway

Late last night, Carlton Cuse tweeted:
Starting working out the beats of the finale today… To quote Dylan: “Oh mamma, can this really be the end…?”
Just thought it was worth marking the moment. The grand finale of Lost is being worked on. Right now.
It boggles the mind.

Obama caves; angry LOST mobs abandon White House

Last week, we had a bit of a scare as President Obama threatened to hold his State of the Union Address on February 2nd, the same night as the long-awaited premiere of the final season of Lost. But apparently realizing the wisdom of not angering Lost fans, the president has shrewdly decided to keep frivolous and ultimately pointless stuff like politics out of the most important television event of our lifetime. He will instead hold the State of the Union on January 26th.
The news came via the Twitter accounts of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, who almost simultaneously let fans …read more

Obama’s State of the Union address could preempt LOST season premiere

Obama’s State of the Union address could preempt LOST season premiere

#NoStateofUnionFeb2. That’s the hash tag meme that’s set Twitter on fire, ever since the White House announced that the two dates currently under consideration for this year’s State of the Union address are January 26th and February 2nd.
February 2nd is, of course, the scheduled premiere date for Lost’s very-long-awaited final season. Since the State of the Union address always preempts regular programming on all major networks, should President Obama choose to hold his address on February 2nd, then one guaranteed outcome of his speech is a gi-normous mob of pissed off Lost fans. Because it almost certainly would mean the …read more

Season 6 writing at halfway mark

Carlton Cuse reports via Twitter that he and Damon Lindelof have hit the halfway mark for the final season of the show. “DL and I are rewriting ep 9 today,” he wrote yesterday. He added that they celebrated the milestone by having lunch at In-N-Out.
Of course, there’s still plenty of filming and post-production to be done before the final season is ready to air, but can you believe the writers are already midway to the end?

Heroes‘ “Doyle” joining LOST

Actor David H. Lawrence, perhaps best known for his role as the puppetmaster villain Doyle on Heroes, Tweeted on Monday that he is joining Lost for a guest starring role this season. So far he’s only signed on for one episode, but his Tweet says that he’s “on hold for three weeks” after that, meaning that he could be in further episodes as well. TVOvermind was first to spot the news.
No word yet on what role he’ll play. Any guesses, based on all the recent casting call reports we’ve seen lately?

New LOST ARG?: Who is Simeon Hobbes?

New LOST ARG?: Who is Simeon Hobbes?

Less than a day after the Season 5 finale of Lost aired, a new Alternate Reality Game seems to have been kicked off. Now it’s worth pointing out that none of this has been confirmed by ABC, and none of it has come through official channels. That said, if it’s a fake… it’s a very well executed one.
The game centers around a mystery figure named Simeon Hobbes, a Twitter user (@simeonhobbes) supposedly from Tunisia (wink, wink) who’s been posting cryptic messages that reference Egyptian mythology, Charles Widmore, and Jacob. Hobbes uses an Egyptian symbol called the Eye of Horus (pictured …read more
